Fracture

I really don’t have a good explanation for why I like this compostion; the colour palette is way weird, it lacks any kind of cohesive element to tie all those diverse forms together, and it almost feels too cheery — like a circus freak all painted up. We instictively know a demented grin lurks just beneath the surface, yet we stroll by for a closer look. After all, “Curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought him back.”

    A refreshing change of pace.

I like what you’ve done with the colouring again. If I remember rightly, you posted a little tutorial about that a while back – I can’t find it so could you link back to it from here again? thanks! :-)

Here you go, it may have been on November Ghost. Let me know if that’s not what you were thinking of.

The colours are this one are straight from Oxi — just punched up the saturation in Photoshop and did some layer blending for the soft glow.

Thanks – but I think it was a few months earlier, and I seem to remember screenshots too but perhaps I’m imagining things! I’ll keep searching too! :-)
