FusionOrb by Cubixel

FusionOrb, so called because of the origins being the mysterious arrival of the Orb.  Of course some scientists got their hands on it and utilised it to produce a fusion generator.  Why not hey!

Previously the original white (greyscale) version of this desktop was available at ResExcellence.  Since then I have not done anything with it till now.  So I loaded up the file and tweaked it heavily in Maya and then rendered it out with an all shiny new range of resolutions!  Tweaked further in Photoshop.

Modelled and rendered in Maya, post production in Photoshop.  Changed the background colour, added gradient and pattern to the background.  Finished up with specialised selections for the final resolutions; this was different to my normal procedure.

Enjoy.

Sweetness in Blue Folders

Sweetness in Blue was originally created for Leopard and seems to be compatible with Snow Leopard as well.  I created this as I dislike the Apple folder set.  Although on the really small size their is clearer than mine as I didn’t make a special small size.

Modelled and rendered in Maya Using image and vector data from Photoshop.

Enjoy.

Sweetness in Blue Folders

Download Macintosh ICNS files  :  Sweetness in Blue Folders

Installation:
Note: These descriptions and file names are all related to Snow Leopard (tested with 10.5.6.1).  This installation requires you to enter some of the system directories and change out files.  This process includes the use of an Administration Password and Alteration of Permissions.  If you don’t know what to do with the information bellow I suggest that you learn more before proceeding!  Follow these instructions at your own risk.  Backup before you perform this and I recommend that you make localised backups of the files you are replacing so you can change them back later if you wish or need to.

Part 1 – Finder:

  1. Go to the following directory:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources
  2. You will have to change the permissions of that directory.  (I recommend you add your own user and switch it to “Read & Write”.)
  3. I like to do a local back-up of the files I’m altering by selecting them and using the contextual menu to ZIP them.  Name the archive with something like “BACKUP”.
  4. Copy the Two YELLOW files into that directory.
  5. I recommend you remove your “User Name” form the Sharing & Permissions section before moving on.

Part 2 – CoreTypes

  1. Go to the following directory:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
  2. You will have to change the permissions of that directory.  (I recommend you add your own user and switch it to “Read & Write”.)
  3. I like to do a local back-up of the files I’m altering by selecting them and using the contextual menu to ZIP them.  Name the archive with something like “BACKUP”.
  4. Copy the Twenty BLUE files into that directory.
  5. I recommend you remove your “User Name” form the Sharing & Permissions section before moving on.

Note: I haven’t created a folder for “ServerApplicationsFolderIcon”.  Presumably because it wasn’t available at the time I created this set.  Either way I haven’t got around to it.  If you want it just get in touch with me via Rampant Mac web site and I’ll get onto it.

Be careful!  Cheers.

Corn Flower by Cubixel

I pondered the title of this image as it evolved.  Train of thought was going in three directions, Star, Flower and Ai Brain.  Of course my better half saw a flower and so it was.  The rest is fairly self evident, apparently.

Additionally I’d like to make some double or triple monitor spreads but I don’t use symmetrical display resolutions and aspects so it all seems too messy.  But if anyone does want something made for such a situation please feel free to get in contact with me via Rampant Mac.

Oxidizer 0.5.9.4 sl, no post production.

Enjoy.

This is my first official Flame creation.  This includes two variations of the Red Loop genome, Red Loop Blades is the primary desktop (my favourite).  The Dots version is an older version I am still very fond of so I have decided to share it anyway.  Oxidizer 0.5.9.4 sl, no post production.  Enjoy!
